CKN Top Accomplishments of 2023

Williamson County Schools (WCS)’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (EIC) student team created Moozie podcast with first 5 episodes are now published. Also implemented second CKN Instagram account, Moozie.the.cow.Continued social media postsalmost daily @moozie.the.cow Instagram and several times weekly @moozieckn Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter.

Provided 25 Operation Moozie backpacks for WeServeToo-organized retreat, hosted in Franklin for active Army members and families.

Participated as an exhibitor at annual: Southern Early Childhood Association Conference (SECA) in March in Chattanooga, with attendees from 14 states; at Kiwanis International Convention in Minneapolis in June; at Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation’s Statewide Early Literacy Education Collaborative of Tennessee (SELECT) in Franklin in July; Tennessee Association for Children’s Early Education (TACEE) in June in Murfreesboro; and Tennessee Association of School Librarians (TASL) in November in Murfreesboro.  Promoted Moozie resources, built CKN network, and sold/donated kits/books.

Launched annual Moozie kindness essay contest (for K to 3rd graders, and added K-1 art option). Promoted via press release, social media, direct organization/personal communications, website, flyer delivery. Concluded annual Moozie kindness/art essay contest with virtual award ceremony, new partnership, and week of Moozie social media updates honoring winners from Kenya and Tennessee.

Selected, contracted, and launched a redesigned moozie.org website with a local vendor that can be edited by CKN staff.

Engaged Early Childhood Development & Play professors/experts (Drs. Kathleen Burriss and Sandra Stone) to update Moozie curriculum.

Participated in annual Saddle Up event, with robotic Moozie and costumed Moozie, to support MTSU Ann Campbell Early Learning Center. Costumed Moozie appeared at an annual Easter egg hunt; Williamson County Library’s Earth Day children’s event; Moozie booth at United Methodist Church-Brentwood’s Caring for Earth Day; Williamson County Animal Center’s summer camps; Rotary Club of Franklin’s pre-rodeo Parade; Mercy Community Healthcare’s annual Back to School Bash and their Franklin Classic event; Williamson County Chamber’s State of the Schools Luncheon; a Halloween Party; read with Moozie’s assistance to 3 Kindergarten classes at Franklin Elementary School. 

Created English-Spanish, English-French, and English-German bilingual PDF versions of the three primary Moozie books, and created additional foreign language translations for Moozie resources and creative works into 130 additional languages using Google Translate.

Enrolled several hundred team members as Advisors, Ambassadors, Content Creators, Volunteers, or Youth Ambassadors across the United States and in more than 25 additional countries and geographic areas.

Donated nearly 1,000 sets of the 3 Moozie books, most also with Moozie hand puppets, and many with some of the CKN document assets (which are now available on the new website) to early childhood centers and schools scattered throughout Tennessee, the United States, and internationally through the generosity of grants from Kiwanis Children’s Fund, Dollar General Literacy Foundation, and in-kind printing by Ron Franks and Wold Architects and Engineers Brentwood.
